The ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) was first launched in 2007 by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) to commemorate ASEAN's 40th anniversary. Since its inception, the ABA has served as a premier platform to recognize and celebrate outstanding enterprises that have made significant contributions to ASEAN's economic growth, integration, and shared prosperity.
For more than a decade, the ABA has honored over 250 exceptional ASEAN businesses across a wide range of sectors. These companies have demonstrated excellence in innovation, resilience, sustainability, and inclusive growth, helping to shape a dynamic and globally competitive ASEAN economy.
Today, ASEAN-BAC, through the ABA, continues to provide a prestigious avenue for businesses to showcase their achievements, reinforce their leadership among industry peers, and elevate their brands both regionally and internationally. The awards play a key role in promoting cross-border collaboration, inspiring entrepreneurship, and highlighting the critical role of the private sector in advancing ASEAN's vision for inclusive and sustainable economic development.
In 2025, the ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) will adopt a more focused and streamlined approach, spotlighting only 10 carefully selected award categories, showcasing a curated list of exceptional companies and individuals who embody ASEAN's forward-looking values
The twelve award categories for 2025 are designed to reflect both traditional economic pillars and emerging areas of influence. These categories recognize not only business excellence but also the cultural, social and diplomatic contributions that strengthen ASEAN’s regional integration and international profile.
Rather than focusing solely on companies within specific industries, the awards are open to companies from any sector that have demonstrated significant impact or driving innovation in key areas vital to ASEAN’s growth and competitiveness : Tourism, Logistics, Sustainability, Financial Services, Digital Advancement, Manufacturing and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG). Whether by transforming regional delivery systems, enhancing accessibility, advancing digital solutions, promoting sustainable practices, or contributing to cultural enrichment and financial inclusion, these companies exemplify the spirit of regional progress.
In addition, four individual awards will spotlight influential figures who are shaping ASEAN’s identity and global narrative through their significant contributions to the fields of Entertainment, Sports, Key Opinion Leadership (KOLs), and as a Friend of ASEAN. These individuals may not necessarily work within these industries, but have made a meaningful impact, driven innovation, or championed change that advances these areas across the region.
Through this renewed focus, ABA 2025 aims to elevate ASEAN's champions of industry and influence, fostering greater unity and pride in the region's shared success story.
